Application Servers (Servidores De Aplicações) Functionalities
The work
management service of any technology solution works all the time and is
responsible for the optimization of response to the clients’ requests. This is
done by distributing optimally all the client processing tasks or requests. It
is the duty of workload management service to distribute all requests to
appropriate application servers
(servidores de aplicações) that are able to handle the requests most
effectively. The workload management servers or services are also responsible
for the provision of failover or alternative servers in a situation where
appropriate servers are not available due to one reason or the other. The
workload management is thus an enhancer or improver of application
availability.
There is what is
known as cluster when talking about application or program servers. These are
servers that are doing almost the same things when talking about processing
clients tasks. Clusters are set of servers that do similar things and are
managed together. They are managed together to be able to participate in
processing clients’ requests or workload management. Some of these clustered
servers can be hosted as virtual machines on the same host machines. They can
also be hosted on different machines. However, clustered servers on different
host servers cannot be called node server, which must always be on the same
hosting server.
Application servers (servidores de
aplicações) are sometimes structured as distributed network, which can be
used to provide essentially enterprise application services. They are like
normal hardware servers that are bought and server operating systems as well as
other applications are installed on them.
